A Thank You and OOTD

We are going through the natural stages of grief but, we are healing. As my wise Mum says "life goes on."

Much like our weather which starts off stormy (shot taken this morning)

and then turns beautiful and sunny, I have moments of consuming grief and moments of laughter.

I am so deeply moved by all of the amazing love and support on the video I posted yesterday on the passing of our sweet baby boy Ozzy. Mark & I both read through all the comments and cried and marvelled at what amazing good hearts were reaching out to us with tears, hugs and love. Thank you!

I figured sharing an OOTD was a light and easy way to get back into the swing of things so here we go.

I don't normally wear shorts, especially when going out for dinner but, I thought these were so cute.

I love Fridays. The anticipation of the weekend lies ahead.

Mark will be home early, we will hang out together for a while and catch-up and then head out for a late dinner. This wrap should work perfectly in the restaurant.

Don't tell but, it is a swimsuit cover-up!

I normally don't know where you can purchase the items I show as I get them from my girlfriend but, my purse and my shoes came from JustFab.

Let me know if you want a video on JustFab as I think they are great but, definitely wait for one of their sales! I thought the laces of these shoes were adorable and worked well with the pattern of the shorts.

What are you up to this weekend?  Whatever it is, know that you have reached out across the miles and touched my life and made my world a better place by comforting me during this difficult time. Thank you. I wish each and every one of you a fabulous weekend.

MUCH love to you all,
Elle

OOTD

It cracks me up how Ozzy always seems to make it in to every shot and I don't notice it till I am editing! :-)

I absolutely love our Arizona weather and, even though it is warm during the day, I can wear boots as it is cool in the shade, inside and everywhere at night.

Date Night: Concert & Dinner

We are going out tonight to enjoy an Ottmar Liebert concert and then have dinner.

It is always over air conditioned so I am bringing along this simple sweater.

This eye look {with Wet N Wild Comfort Zone - the bottom left color in the palette - on the lid and a dark brown color in the crease), is very hard to capture.  The duo chrome lid looks blue when you look at it straight on but the rest looks brown and the color 'shifts' depending on your angle. It is out of my norm but, I am loving rediscovering this palette and it is now in my 'Comfort Zone' with this palette.

OOTD - Canary Yellow Pants

I figure if you are going to be bold, then go for it! I paired these bright canary yellow pants with a very busy top that ties in with the yellow.

This black blazer helps to tone it down and make it seem more 'wearable'.

My boys

By request, here is an outfit of the day of both of my boys for our Date Night.

TGIF! Going out for Date Night

It has been a crazy busy couple of weeks at work (can you tell by my accidentally posting two videos on the same day…..twice! Oops)

It is not only Friday but we are in town for the weekend - woohoo!  Mark and I are going out for a date night dinner.

Even though we were in the high 80’s today, it will be in the low 60’s tonight and we are sitting on the patio so I am taking this sweater.  Yes, I crocheted it J

I really love the pattern for the collar (sorry it is sitting funny) as well as the detail around the waist.  I have actually crocheted this in several different colors.  (Sorry, I couldn’t find the pattern offhand to be able to reference it)

I hope that everyone has a wonderfully relaxing weekend.

Going out for Date Night

We have date night every Wednesday night.  Most times, we stay home but tonight, we decided to go out so I thought I would show you my outfit.  Keep in mind that it was 80 degrees today so the restaurants will all be air conditioned but outside will probably be in the 60's by the time we leave the restaurant.

I love contrasting fabrics - the fringed sweater combined with the leather skirt, the sequined silk top and the strappy shoes.

I thought this delicate necklace would look sexier than a big statement piece.

I think these shoes are so cute with their zippered leather heels

I hope that everyone is having a great week!

Date Night - Dressing for 30 degree temperature swings

Note: You can click on any picture on my blog to enlarge.

This time of year, in the desert climate of Arizona, we have the challenge of dressing for 80 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night (which is chillier than it probably sounds to you).  Since we have such a short Fall/Winter season, I also like to try to use my cooler weather clothes as much as possible.

I am wearing a short sleeve dress and pair it with boots.  Since the dress is quite fitted, I also think that having the high boots covering up some skin makes the outfit seem less revealing.

This is one of our rare weekends at home so we are going out for a dinner date tonight.  I know I will be chilly as the desert cools off quickly so, I paired up the outfit with this beautiful jacket/cover up.  I wish I could say that I knit the cover up but, I didn’t.

Here is a view of the beautiful lace work on the back.

The rest of the weekend, we are going to stay in and bbq and eat outside - so decadent to me after eating out so much!  What are you up to this weekend? Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy.
