Chia Seed Basic Recipe Makes 2 Servings (can be doubled or tripled)
1 C liquid (I use the Trader Joe's coconut beverage but you could use coffee, milk, water or ??)
1/4 C Chia Seeds
Stevia, optional
Flavoring, optional (vanilla, maple syrup, almond or ???)
Flax seed, optional
Put all of above in a mason jar and shake really well. If seeds are stuck to the side, scrape off and shake again. Add any additional desired ingredients (see below for inspiration) and then pour into 2 serving dishes and refrigerate at least 4 hours or over night.
If you don't like the texture of the chia seeds, you can put through a blender. Personally, I love the crunch.
All of below use the "Chia Seed Basic Recipe" from above. Add additional ingredients as desired and shake in the mason jar before pouring into serving dishes and refrigerating.
The Black Forest (sometimes with a dash of almond extract), or frozen berries, or cocoa and crunchy peanut butter are some of my favorites - yum! I also like adding oatmeal with some maple extract and cinnamon spice for a breakfast version. If you come up with a great combination, please share in the comments below.
