A newspaper article on Olivia
I wanted to share a newspaper article where my sister was interviewed Olivia and the Ronald McDonald House. A few minor details are incorrect (Olivia was 12 when she was diagnosed, etc.) but you get the idea. I thought some of you may be interested so here it is:

I was only able to manipulate the article to read pieces of it - but how well I know the pain that both Olivia and her parents suffered. Thank God my son came through his ordeal - he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma and he had 12 cycles of Chemo and 15 of Radiotherapy and had all the side effects of both. Fortunately for us we lived within 30 minute drive from the hospital so my son was able to live at home during the treatment and a nurse came out to him every day and gave him a vaccination. He has now been clear for 5 years. I remember Olivia in my prayers every day.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much Marie-Louise for your valued prayers. I know that you understand. I truly believe that this is the hardest on my sister. I know the anxiety you have and must still live with as a mother must be incredible. I will keep your son in my thoughts. xoxo
