Ingredients
- 2 C Purified water
- 1/2 to 1 tsp honey (more will mean faster/stronger fermentation)
- 1/2 probiotic capsule
Steps
- 2. Add probiotic powder
- 3. Put lid on jar and shake.
- 4. Put on window sill for 3 days or till ready (try to keep near 70 degrees)
- 5. Should smell semi-sweet (see notes)
- 6. Strain into another glass jar and put in fridge
- 7. Enjoy by adding to any drink you want water. I add about 1/4 C to a drink
- Save last 1/4 to 1/3 of batch, fill up with purified water and repeat steps 2 to 7 BUT skip Step #2 as your starter will give you your probiotic
Notes
- If it smells like plain water - then add a bit more probiotic and honey to ferment again.
- I try to use local honey as that can help with allergies
- 10/28 - Doubled batch 4 x 16 oz canning jars (hold approximately 2 C water each) added 1/2 tsp of honey to each jar and used 1 probiotic capsule for the 4 jars
- 11/5 - LOVE using this 1 Gallon large glass jar amzn.to/3v1CjLq to make a large batch and filtering off what I want to a pitcher in the fridge. With remaining brew, add more filtered water and honey and brew another batch. 1 Gallon=16C so multiply the above recipe by 8.
You have such amazing content! I will absolutely start this! We don't buy bottled water and I do have a gallon of distilled. Wonder if that would okay to use? I know more the minerals are taken out as opposed to the purified bottled water. Great idea so thanks for sharing Ü
