Sunday Chat: Setting Boundaries

What are you thankful for?

I am peeling potatoes and chopping vegetables in preparation for our feast tomorrow, and feeling so happy and cozy.  I wanted to share some things that I am thankful for and to say thank you.

My health - I know how quickly this can be gone and I try every day to remember to appreciate how wonderful it is to feel good

My family - I am blessed with an amazing family near and far.  Mark is a constant source of support and strength for me and I love him more with every day.  Ozzy is such a cutie pie and a never ending source of joy.

My friends - I am so blessed with amazing friends who take time out of their busy day to touch base with me - whether in person, a phone call, a text message, a vox or a wonderful comment on the internet.  We are connected.  I am amazed at the friendships that we have built up in the wonderful YT community. Thank you. I am so blessed to have you as my friend and appreciate your sharing your life with me across the miles.

The intangibles - Being free.  Being happy.  To smile as I see the hummingbirds in my yard.  To enjoy a sunny day. To sit outside and read. To have so little that is worth worrying about.

For all these things and more, I am so thankful.  No matter whether you are in the States and celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow or elsewhere in the world, I hope that you have much to be thankful for, now and every day of the year.  I would love to hear what you are thankful for to let me share in your life and remind me of things to appreciate.

Much love to you,

Elle

Ipsy November

The theme this month is 'Girl Meets Glitter' and everything came in this glittery silver bag While it is a cute theme and the bag is a nice size but is very cheap and plastic feeling.  Oh well, what matters is what's inside!

I am super excited about this gorgeous Be a Bombshell Eye base in Submissive.  It is such a pretty color and I love the Be A Bombshell 5-in-1 eyebase as it evens out my crepey lids so hopefully this will do the same.

This Mark Anthony hairspray looks really nice and will be perfect to travel.  I love that it has Morocco and Argan Oil and it has a really nice scent.  I will be throwing this in my suitcase to take with me this weekend.

This is the only product I am iffy about. I wanted to love this JCat Wonder Lip Paint but, yikies it is DARK. Maybe applied sparingly with a lip brush and a light gloss on top to soften it up?

This Temptu highlighter in pink pearl looks so pretty and, I just don't have enough highlighters lol!  Again, perfect for travel.

I have never tried a waterproof eyeliner before so will be interested to try this Elizabeth Mott You're So Fine Waterproof Eyeliner.  I just hope it is fairly easy to get off at night.

I am super happy with this month's bag and can't wait to play with everything.

Date Night - Dressing for 30 degree temperature swings

Note: You can click on any picture on my blog to enlarge.

This time of year, in the desert climate of Arizona, we have the challenge of dressing for 80 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night (which is chillier than it probably sounds to you).  Since we have such a short Fall/Winter season, I also like to try to use my cooler weather clothes as much as possible.

I am wearing a short sleeve dress and pair it with boots.  Since the dress is quite fitted, I also think that having the high boots covering up some skin makes the outfit seem less revealing.

This is one of our rare weekends at home so we are going out for a dinner date tonight.  I know I will be chilly as the desert cools off quickly so, I paired up the outfit with this beautiful jacket/cover up.  I wish I could say that I knit the cover up but, I didn’t.

Here is a view of the beautiful lace work on the back.

The rest of the weekend, we are going to stay in and bbq and eat outside - so decadent to me after eating out so much!  What are you up to this weekend? Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy.
