Scriptures / Sunday Chat - Prayer

After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done in earth,

as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive our trespassors

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever.

Amen.

Matthew 6:9-13

Pray without ceasing

 being watchful and thankful.

Moses face to face,

as one speaks to a friend.

God will come close to you.

And pray in the Spirit

on all occasions with all

kinds of prayers and requests.

With this in mind,

be alert and always keep

on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Ephesians 6:18

Do not be anxious about anything,

but in every situation,

by prayer and petition,

with thanksgiving,

present your requests to God.

Philippians 4:6

Then Jesus said to the disciples,

“Have faith in God.

I tell you the truth,

you can say to this mountain,

‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’

and it will happen.

But you must really believe it will happen

and have no doubt in your heart.

I tell you, you can pray for anything,

and if you believe that you’ve

received it, it will be yours.

But when you are praying,

first forgive anyone you are

holding a grudge against,

so that your Father in heaven

will forgive your sins, too.”

Mark 11: 22-25

“What do you mean,

‘If I can’?” Jesus asked.

Jabez cried out to

the God of Israel,

“Oh, that you would bless me

and enlarge my territory!

Let your hand be with me,

and keep me from harm

so that I will be free from pain.”

And God granted his request.

1 Chronicles 4:10

Yet you don’t have what you want

because you don’t ask God for it.

James 4:2

With God’s power working in us,

he can do much, much more

than anything we can ask or think of.

Ephesians 3:20

Until now you have not asked

for anything in my name.

Ask and you will receive,

and your joy will be complete.

John 16:24

Happy are those who hear

the joyful call to worship,

for they will walk in the

light of your presence, Lord.

They rejoice all day long

in your wonderful reputation.

They exult in your righteousness.

You are their glorious strength.

It pleases you to make us strong.

Psalms 89:15-17

Blessed is the one

  who does not walk

in step with the wicked

or stand in the way that sinners take

or sit in the company of mockers,

but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,

and who meditates on his law day and night.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,

which yields its fruit in season

and whose leaf does not wither—

 whatever they do prospers.

Psalm 1:1-3

Always be joyful.

Never stop praying.

Be thankful in all circumstances,

for this is God’s will for you

who belong to Christ Jesus.

Be still and know that I am God

Psalm 46:10

Jesus replied,

“But even more blessed are

all who hear the word of God

and put it into practice.”

Luke 11:28

Mark loves this packaged in individual freezer bags that are the perfect individual size for him to put over a hotdog. When a man is in heaven with a chili dog - you are happy to oblige.

Sunday Chat / Scriptures: Worry and Faith

Be strong in the Lord
and in his mighty power.
Put on all of God’s armor so
that you will be able to stand firm
against all strategies of the devil.

For we are not fighting against
flesh-and-blood enemies,
but against evil rulers and
authorities of the unseen world,
against mighty powers
in this dark world,
and against evil spirits
in the heavenly places.

Therefore, put on every
piece of God’s armor
so you will be able to resist the
enemy in the time of evil.
Then after the battle
you will still be standing firm.

Stand your ground,
putting on the belt of truth and
the body armor of
God’s righteousness.

For shoes, put on the peace
that comes from the Good News
so that you will be fully prepared.

In addition to all of these,
hold up the shield of faith to
stop the fiery arrows of the devil.

Put on salvation as your helmet,
and take the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.

Pray in the Spirit at all times
and on every occasion.
Stay alert and be persistent
in your prayers
for all believers everywhere.
Ephesians 6:10-18

Watch out for your great enemy,
the devil.
He prowls around like a roaring lion,
looking for someone to devour.

Stand firm against him,
and be strong in your faith.
Remember that your family of believers
all over the world is going through
the same kind of suffering you are.
1 Peter 5:8-9

 When the devil had
finished tempting Jesus,
he left him until
the next opportunity came.
Luke 4:13

The temptations in your life
are no different from
what others experience.
And God is faithful.
He will not allow the temptation
to be more than you can stand.
When you are tempted,
he will show you a way out
so that you can endure.
1 Corinthians 10:13

I cried out, “I am slipping!” but
your unfailing love, O Lord,
supported me.
When doubts filled my mind,
 your comfort gave me
renewed hope and cheer.
Psalm 94:18-19

So humble yourselves before God.
Resist the devil,
and he will flee from you.

Come close to God,
and God will come close to you.
 James 4:7-8

I prayed to the Lord,
and he answered me.
He freed me from all my fears.
Those who look to him for help
will be radiant with joy;
 no shadow of shame will
darken their faces.
In my desperation I prayed,
and the Lord listened;
he saved me from all my troubles.
For the angel of the Lord is a guard;
 he surrounds and defends
all who fear him.
Psalm 34:4-7

The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress,
protecting me from danger,
 so why should I tremble?
Psalm 27:1

Give all your worries and cares to God,
for he cares about you.
1 Peter 5:7

Take delight in the Lord,
 and he will give you
your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do
to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
Psalm 37:4-5

“I am leaving you with a gift—
peace of mind and heart.
And the peace I give is a gift
the world cannot give.
So don’t be troubled or afraid.
John 14:27

Can all your worries
add a single moment to your life?
And if worry can’t accomplish
a little thing like that,
what’s the use of worrying
over bigger things?
Luke 12:25-26

“That is why I tell you
not to worry about everyday life—
whether you have enough food and drink,
or enough clothes to wear.
Isn’t life more than food,
and your body more than clothing?
Look at the birds.
They don’t plant or harvest
or store food in barns,
for your heavenly Father feeds them.
And aren’t you far more valuable to him
than they are?

“So don’t worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Matthew 6:34

God is love,
and all who live in love live in God,
and God lives in them.

And as we live in God,
our love grows more perfect.
So we will not be afraid
on the day of judgment,
but we can face him with confidence
because we live like Jesus here in this world.

Such love has no fear,
because perfect love expels all fear.

If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment,
and this shows that we have not
fully experienced his perfect love.
1 John 4:16-18

For the Spirit God gave us
does not make us timid,
but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7

Can all your worries
add a single moment to your life?
And if worry can’t accomplish
a little thing like that,
what’s the use of worrying
over bigger things?
Luke 12:25-26

“That is why I tell you
not to worry about everyday life—
whether you have enough

or enough clothes to wear.
Isn’t life more than food,
and your body more than clothing?

than they are?

“So don’t worry about tomorrow,

Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Matthew 6:34

Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for him to act.
Psalm 37:7

The righteous person faces
many troubles,
 but the Lord comes
to the rescue each time.
Psalm 34:19

I pray that God, the source of hope,
will fill you completely
with joy and peace
because you trust in him.
Then you will overflow
with confident hope
through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13

We can make our plans,
but the Lord determines our steps.
Proverbs 16:9

Jesus replied, “You don’t understand
now what I am doing,
but someday you will.”
John 13:7

Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you
Psalm 37:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5

All praise to God,
the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God is our merciful Father and
the source of all comfort.

He comforts us in all our troubles
so that we can comfort others.
When they are troubled,
we will be able to give them
the same comfort God has given us.

For the more we suffer for Christ,
the more God will shower us with
his comfort through Christ.
Even when we are weighed down with troubles,
it is for your comfort and salvation!

For when we ourselves are comforted,
we will certainly comfort you.
Then you can patiently endure
the same things we suffer.

We are confident that
as you share in our sufferings,
you will also share in the comfort God gives us.
2 Corinthians 1:3-7

What shall we say about
such wonderful things as these?
If God is for us,
who can ever be against us?
Romans 8:31

Don’t worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need,
and thank him for all he has done.
Then you will experience God’s peace,
which exceeds anything
we can understand.
His peace will guard your
hearts and minds
as you live in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Make Your Own Oat Milk

I am notorious for buying poor quality milk. It usually has a lot of bad ingredients but, in my defense, it tastes great!😂 I don't drink a lot of milk but do have it every day in my coffee and occasionally mixed with my OWYN chocolate protein powder. I did some research and oat milk is so easy to make. You can also adjust the flavorings to your desired taste.

Servings: (makes 1 litre of oat milk)
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup (50g) rolled oats (gluten free or any other types will do)
  • 4 C water (at room temperature)
  •
  • OPTIONAL
  • salt
  • vanilla
  • cinnamon or other spice
  • stevia or honey
Steps
  1. Combine ingredients in a blender and blend for one minute (until oats are very fine and well mixed).
  2. Strain through a fine mesh fabric (like cheesecloth).
  3. Squeeze out all liquid from the oat residue (but not too much or you’ll get the slime).
  4. Pour in a fridge jug or bottle and consume within a week.
  5. Shake well each time before using.
Notes
  • I don't let the oats sit in the water before blending as this makes it slimey.

The oat milk is thin/watery in texture but it has a rich flavor and feels filling. I love that I always have the ingredients on hand, know exactly what is going in to my milk and it is so easy to make. Let me know if you try this.
