Going out for Date Night

We have date night every Wednesday night.  Most times, we stay home but tonight, we decided to go out so I thought I would show you my outfit.  Keep in mind that it was 80 degrees today so the restaurants will all be air conditioned but outside will probably be in the 60's by the time we leave the restaurant.

I love contrasting fabrics - the fringed sweater combined with the leather skirt, the sequined silk top and the strappy shoes.

I thought this delicate necklace would look sexier than a big statement piece.

I think these shoes are so cute with their zippered leather heels

I hope that everyone is having a great week!

Elle's Life November

So much of my month seems to revolve around food :-) A favorite place where Mark and I eat during our travels  For lunch, I had their wonderful shrimp lettuce wraps

Mark had his usual meatball sandwich

We typically eat at Paradise Bakery for lunch every weekend and always get their Chicken Walnut sandwich on sourdough bread.  They have the best cookies - yum!

Mark gets the breast of the turkey out whole so it slices up beautifully

Mark demonstrates how he does this in this video.  Let me know if you try this!

Olivia went to Kamloops for a hockey tournament and, even though they didn't win, she had a fabulous time.

A very casual OOTD for going to a couple appointments and running errands.

I finished another baby blanket - yeah!  I tend to get get them 3/4 done as I knit/crochet more when we travel and then it takes longer for me to finish them up as I leave them at home once they are larger.

The finished blanket (ok, I still need to block it):

The edging of the blanket:

I was so happy to put up our tree as I love having the house decorated.

We have little decorations in all different spots around the house and it feels so cozy

Mark decorated our table centerpiece for the holidays and I think he did a great job.

Mark's sense of humor...
Antlers on the sofa

Frosty hanging on for dear life

We are still near 70 during the daytime but get down into the chilly mid 40's overnight.  I hope that everyone is having a great month and staying warm.

What are you thankful for?

I am peeling potatoes and chopping vegetables in preparation for our feast tomorrow, and feeling so happy and cozy.  I wanted to share some things that I am thankful for and to say thank you.

My health - I know how quickly this can be gone and I try every day to remember to appreciate how wonderful it is to feel good

My family - I am blessed with an amazing family near and far.  Mark is a constant source of support and strength for me and I love him more with every day.  Ozzy is such a cutie pie and a never ending source of joy.

My friends - I am so blessed with amazing friends who take time out of their busy day to touch base with me - whether in person, a phone call, a text message, a vox or a wonderful comment on the internet.  We are connected.  I am amazed at the friendships that we have built up in the wonderful YT community. Thank you. I am so blessed to have you as my friend and appreciate your sharing your life with me across the miles.

The intangibles - Being free.  Being happy.  To smile as I see the hummingbirds in my yard.  To enjoy a sunny day. To sit outside and read. To have so little that is worth worrying about.

For all these things and more, I am so thankful.  No matter whether you are in the States and celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow or elsewhere in the world, I hope that you have much to be thankful for, now and every day of the year.  I would love to hear what you are thankful for to let me share in your life and remind me of things to appreciate.

Much love to you,

Elle

Ipsy November

The theme this month is 'Girl Meets Glitter' and everything came in this glittery silver bag While it is a cute theme and the bag is a nice size but is very cheap and plastic feeling.  Oh well, what matters is what's inside!

I am super excited about this gorgeous Be a Bombshell Eye base in Submissive.  It is such a pretty color and I love the Be A Bombshell 5-in-1 eyebase as it evens out my crepey lids so hopefully this will do the same.

This Mark Anthony hairspray looks really nice and will be perfect to travel.  I love that it has Morocco and Argan Oil and it has a really nice scent.  I will be throwing this in my suitcase to take with me this weekend.

This is the only product I am iffy about. I wanted to love this JCat Wonder Lip Paint but, yikies it is DARK. Maybe applied sparingly with a lip brush and a light gloss on top to soften it up?

This Temptu highlighter in pink pearl looks so pretty and, I just don't have enough highlighters lol!  Again, perfect for travel.

I have never tried a waterproof eyeliner before so will be interested to try this Elizabeth Mott You're So Fine Waterproof Eyeliner.  I just hope it is fairly easy to get off at night.

I am super happy with this month's bag and can't wait to play with everything.
