Astral Cream - falling back in love with an old fav!

Like many of you, I am on a constant quest for the perfect moisturizer. I have been known to spend some money (ugh on stinky Le Mer!! Definitely NOT the "light floral scent" that they advertise!) but I frequently find the high end products don't rate that high for me.

Recently, a girlfriend from France was telling me about how in love she is with Astral Cream and she never wanted to live without it. She was saying how she found it interesting that countless actresses swear by it and how it is making a resurgence as this is such a beautiful cream. This cream has been compared to the Charlotte Tilbury Magic cream (I have never tried) as well as to La Met (which I didn't like). This took me back to being a young girl and my mother using Astral Cream for decades and then I used it for many years, until I moved from London. I was so thankful to find it is now available in North America off of Amazon. It is as beautiful a product as I remember and now wonder why did I ever stop using this??

It is a thick texture but not as thick as Nivea.

It hydrates all day and makes my make-up look beautiful. It is also so hydrating on over my other skincare products at night. Hopefully the luminosity and softer texture of this cream shows up in these comparison photos.

This will be the only moisturizer that I take with me when I am traveling as I can use it for day or night and also could use it on my cuticles, feet, elbows, etc. I have fallen back in love with this fabulous cream and for $13 for 500ml it is a steal as I only need a bit each time I use it. I have been using it for a while now and am loving how my skin looks and feels. I love falling back in love with a great product that feels just as amazing as I remember. ♥

  1. I've never heard of this cream. It looks soooo lucious! I grew up with my Mum slathering me up with Nivea. My nails dipped in the Nivea Soft® before bedtime has strengthened them and made them grow. But your Astral cream makes Nivea looks like chunky Crisco. I can not wait to literally get my hands on this Astral cream! You always have the best recommendations, Elle! Thanks for all you do ♥

    1. I hope that you love it Tracy! I am amazed at patting just a tiny bit with my ring finger under my eyes REALLY hydrates them. xoxo

    2. Astral is an UK brand. It has been around since the 1950s.It is an excellent inexpensive cream. My Aunt has used it for decades, she will 81 years soon and honestly looks aged 60. And she used no other skin care product.

  2. I also love Astral, i have found that the Nivea lotion though in dark blue bottle for dry skin can be used as a all over moisturiser and face cleanser too
